May In Review

In May, we potty trained Tucker. Over Memorial Day weekend we put big boy underwear on him, and he hasn't worn a diaper since. It wasn't extremely smooth, but it was successful.
Tess hit the 6 month mark in May, and she weighed in at 15 lbs 4 oz and measured 25 1/2 in, 50th percentile all around. She started eating plenty of solid foods including squash, sweet potato, blueberries, apples, and carrots.

Wichita

The next stop on our road trip was Enid for a few days. I somehow didn't get any pictures of the kiddos there, but they had lots of fun hanging out with Meggie and Grandad.
After Enid we went on to Wichita.Tess and Emma holding hands...so sweet

We went to the McFadden's ostrich farm. Tucker loved all the big tractors and getting up close to these creatures!

Max's Birthday

In April, my sister Tessa, Tucker, Tess and I went on a road trip. If you're wondering why it's been so long since I've written a blog, I'll use the excuse that I'm still recovering from it :) It all started with a stop in Edmond for Max's 2nd Birthday Bash. The theme was Thomas the Train and it was lots of fun.

The Beach

We went to the beach a few weeks ago. The beach is a little play area by a shopping center in Fairview. The day we went it was hot, hot, hot. There is a splash area nearby, but I wasn't prepared with a swimsuit or towel for Tucker, but I'll know better next time!

Tess's Four Month Check Up

Tess had her 4month check up today with the doctor. She weighs 14lbs and measures 24-1/2"long. She was quite the trooper with her shots, she cried big crocodile tears for a few moments and then had a nice long snooze.

This is a little of what Tess has been up to lately
  • she loves checking herself out in the mirror
  • she loves to "stand" and see what's going on around her
  • she is still rolling over both ways
  • she has slept through the night a few times, though not yet on a regular basis
  • she loves getting kisses, especially from her big brother
  • she is very ticklish
  • she is a natural at her (5 key) piano on her exersaucer

A Little Culture

My parents went to China a few months ago and brought back some clothes for the grandkids. Here's a few pics of them in their Chinese apparel.

Tucker is TWO

On March 3rd, Tucker turned two. He woke up in a good mood, he had a good day, and ended the day on a great note with a cookie cake. That evening the whole family drove to Edmond to prepare for his birthday party. The party was a Dr. Seuss themed party and the cupcakes were carefully made. And fun was had by all.

Here is what Tucker has been up to lately:
He weighs 26lbs
He had a slow start to the whole talking business, but in the last couple months has kinda had a word explosion. He's now saying his colors, some numbers (8 seems to be his favorite), and points out letters among many other things.
He sleeps 11-12 hrs at night and takes an afternoon nap
He still LOVES being read to
He now likes to go to MDO and doesn't cry when getting dropped off, instead he grins!

Mmm... that's good blue icing.
