A Little Culture

My parents went to China a few months ago and brought back some clothes for the grandkids. Here's a few pics of them in their Chinese apparel.

Tucker is TWO

On March 3rd, Tucker turned two. He woke up in a good mood, he had a good day, and ended the day on a great note with a cookie cake. That evening the whole family drove to Edmond to prepare for his birthday party. The party was a Dr. Seuss themed party and the cupcakes were carefully made. And fun was had by all.

Here is what Tucker has been up to lately:
He weighs 26lbs
He had a slow start to the whole talking business, but in the last couple months has kinda had a word explosion. He's now saying his colors, some numbers (8 seems to be his favorite), and points out letters among many other things.
He sleeps 11-12 hrs at night and takes an afternoon nap
He still LOVES being read to
He now likes to go to MDO and doesn't cry when getting dropped off, instead he grins!

Mmm... that's good blue icing.

Tess really enjoyed the Seussian fun.

Three Month Snapshots

Tess has been very active recently. She has continued to roll from her front over to her back, but has also added the ability to roll from her back to her front. She's a big fan of her pacifier, but in desperate situations she has found that her thumb will work just fine. She smiles and giggles a lot and is especially ticklish under her chin. She likes her big brother, and Tucker has decided that she can stick around. She eats about every three hours during the day, but has to eat extra to account for all the milk she spits up. The night life with Tess is pretty exciting for her parents since she is now going to bed at 8:30-9:00, she gets woken up for a dream feed at about 10:30-11:00, and typically only wakes up mom once for a quick snack around 3:00-4:00.

Don't You Just Love Mother Nature???

One Month Ago

And Today

We've been stuck in the house four days now, but today was the first day we took Tucker out to play because we finally got SNOW!! The past few days have just been an icy mess on the roads. Jason went in to work on Tuesday but has been working from home Wednesday-Friday. Tess didn't join us outside because she was taking a nap. She actually has 2 really cute snowsuits, I may just have to put her in them and take some pictures before she outgrows them. Tucker's favorite thing to do out in the snow was watch Jason make snowballs and then throw them on the side of the house. He also enjoyed licking icicles.

A lot has been going on around here lately. Tess has rolled over from front to back, started smiling and can sleep up to 6 hours at a time. Tucker has been repeating more words and has a new word almost every day. He is enjoying MDO and doesn't throw fits when being dropped off anymore. His teacher tells me he especially likes to play with one of the girls there.

Just a few pics of the kiddos...

Christmas in Enid

This is a long overdue post, but better late than never, right?

We spent Christmas Eve night driving from Maud to Enid, since that is where we told Santa we would be on Christmas morning. The kids woke up to a flurry of presents, so they must have been very good this year. Tess enjoyed Christmas morning as you could expect any 1 month old to enjoy Christmas. Tucker opened a few gifts, including a few books, and then lost any interest in any other gifts. He preferred to have Dad read to him while Mom made her way through his piles of gifts to be opened.

Here are some of the pictures from our Christmas in Enid

Christmas Eve in Maud

We drove to Oklahoma on Thursday to start the holiday festivities in Maud. After we made a stop to eat dinner, about halfway through our road trip, Tucker kept asking to go home. We tried explaining to him where we were going and why, but our little guy is just a homebody I suppose. Mama O'Daniel with Tess

Catching Up

It's been awhile since we updated the blog. It's a little hard to get anything done with 2 kids under the age of 2 :) Tess has been growing wonderfully. At her 2 week visit, the doctor commented that she had gained more weight than he had ever seen in all his years of practice for that time period. She had gained 1lb 6oz from her birth weight and she hasn't slowed down since. We're having lots of fun getting to know her and big brother Tucker has warmed up to her as well. Tucker likes to help us take care of Tess by getting diapers, reinserting the pacifier and bathing her.2 weeks old

Easy as Pi

We have a kid sized table were Tucker sits and colors. Sometimes Jason or I will sit and color a picture with him. This is what I found on the table. I guess learning the ABC's or colors is too juvenile for our kid, he's learning about pi. And something about lasers and diodes.
