Easy as Pi

We have a kid sized table were Tucker sits and colors. Sometimes Jason or I will sit and color a picture with him. This is what I found on the table. I guess learning the ABC's or colors is too juvenile for our kid, he's learning about pi. And something about lasers and diodes.

Tess Alivia Has Arrived

Tess Alivia O'Daniel was born on Friday November 19, 2010 at 9:56AM and weighed in at 7lbs. 7oz. and measured 19 1/2" long. She was in a hurry to arrive considering we got to the hospital at 7:15AM and didn't start the induction until around 8:30AM. Both mother and child did extremely well through the birthing processes. Tucker came to visit later in the afternoon and seemed to be okay at first, but his jealousy is pretty apparent. It may take a few weeks for him to adjust. He has given his little sister a few kisses, but he has also pushed her away several times.

Tess Alivia on her second day of life. Her Meggie has insured she has plenty of changes of clothes.

Cousin Max enjoyed holding and kissing his little cousin Tess.

The boys got out of the house to do a little tree climbing while taking a break from staring at and admiring little Tess.

Tess gets pretty exhausted from all that eating, pooping, and sleeping.

Trick or Treat

Tucker had lots of fun this Halloween as a giraffe and actually liked wearing his costume. He got to wear it to a trick or treating event at the park, a birthday party on Saturday and out trick or treating Sunday night. He went to five whole houses this year and really got the hang of it. On Monday, he tried putting on his costume again and headed toward the front door, and then he got upset when I wouldn't let him go to the neighbors to get any more candy!

Pictures With Pumpkins

Tucker has been to the Dallas Arboretum this month twice to see the thousands of pumpkins and beautiful flowers.

Here's a pic of Tucker with his friend Grace, for more about Grace see previous post :)

Kissy Kiss

No pics for this post, just had to record Tucker's first kiss with a girl (other than Mom or other relatives, that is). It was last Friday, we were over at Annie & Grace's house. Grace is one of Tucker's friends that is a few months older than him-yes, he's going for the older women! Tucker had just given me a hug and Grace was standing there next to him so I asked if Tucker wanted to give Gracie a hug also. Well, he skipped right past the hugging stage a planted a big, open mouthed kiss on her instead! Grace got a big smile on her face and got pretty giddy afterward. We'll have to keep our eyes on those two!

And the name is...

Tess Alivia

So we finally decided on a name for our baby girl. She will be named after my little sister Tessa Ruth. When my mom was pregnant with my little sister, I told my parents that I wanted the baby to be a girl and I wanted her name to be Tess. And the name Ruth is our aunt's name. So my little sis was named by me and after her aunt also, just like our Tess Alivia.
We're so excited for her arrival! Less than 8 weeks until her due date!

Wichita Baby Showers

I went to Wichita a couple of weekends ago for Angel's baby shower and ended up coming home with much more than I expected because Saretta, Angel and Nicole threw me a surprise baby shower. This baby is now set with enough pink to last her quite awhile. Tucker and I drove to Edmond beforehand and met up with Aunt Staci and Cousin Max to make the rest of the trip with to Wichita. Tucker had lots of fun playing with Max's toys and they looked so cute giving hugs to each other.

Aunt Erica trying real hard to get both of the boys to at least look at the camera

Didn't succeed but they still deserve kisses for being so darn adorable

18 Month Pictures

A few weeks ago we decided to walk to Breckinridge Park and take some pics of Tucker. We had decided to invest in a better camera because our old one just wasn't cutting it with a toddler who is always on the go-it was way too slow to keep up with him! So this was our first "photo shoot" with our favorite little model.
This is definitely a familiar pose of Tucker's- it means "Pick me up!!"

18 Month Check Up

Our little man is 18 months old already! He went to the doctor's on Wednesday and received a clean bill of health...and a couple of shots :( He weighs 25lb 11oz and is 32" tall (or at least we think since he was not being very cooperative during this time and wiggling around a lot). The doctor was concerned that Tucker isn't really talking, but Jason and I are pretty sure he's just a lot like his dad, who was a late talker. In other news, he's still doing pretty well in the toddler bed, although sometimes he likes to get up around 6:30 in the morning and come in to check on mom and dad. He used to sleep in until around 8:00, so this isn't something mom and dad are real crazy about, especially on the weekends. He helped dad put together his baby sister's crib yesterday and had lots of fun hiding under the crib skirt since the mattress is up high. He's getting pretty good at walking up the stairs while holding onto someone's hand. He loves being read to, he has lots and lots of books, but enjoys hearing the same books over, and over, and over.

Here are a few recent pics of what Tucker has been up to

Wondering who this crazy cat is???

We got a shipment of clothes in for Tucker's fall line and baby sister's beginning wardrobe courtesy of Meggie, so Tucker decided to help organize by pulling them all out and dumping them on the ground

MDO

Today was Tucker's first day at Mother's Day Out. He cried hysterically when I dropped him off (totally expected this from my child) and was sobbing when I picked him up 5 hours later. I was assured that he didn't spend the ENTIRE time upset and his comment sheet said he was very happy at lunch (again, totally expected that from my child!). He'll be going once a week and I hope he gets to where he looks forward to this time and drop off is a little easier on him.Striking a pose for his pic

The official "first day in front of the front door pic" - even though we left out of the garage door

If you click on this picture to make it larger, you can see what Tucker has been doing lately to pacify himself. He's discovered it's a lot of fun to suck his finger! He never did take a pacifier, but a couple of months ago he started with his right pointer finger and so it's now swollen and has teeth marks on it.

Dallas Arboretum

We went to the Dallas Arboretum yesterday. I took some pictures of my baby boy, but somehow didn't get any pics of the pretty flowers all around us! So the first images in this post are borrowed from the internet!

This is from later that day at home, with a messy and drooley little man!

Into the Toddler Bed

We converted Tucker's crib into a toddler bed about 2 weeks ago. I was expecting a bit of struggle from him at nap time and bedtime, but he's surprised me and has been doing great with the change. Helping out Dad with the tools

Practicing the climb into bed

Looking happy about the new set up!
