Ho Ho Ho

Tucker went to visit Santa Claus today. As you can tell from the picture, he really didn't know what to think about this Santa business. He didn't cry at all, but wasn't too excited about being there either. He did seem to be a little more excited about the elf who made him a balloon doggie while we waited in line.

9 Months Old

Tucker waiting at the doctor's office

Our baby is 9 months old already! We can't believe how fast he's growing up. Tucker went for his 9 month check up on Monday and he is perfect-the doctor said so! He weighed in at 18lbs 10oz and was 27" tall. He didn't have to have any shots at this appointment (Yay) but just had to have his finger pricked. At this point, Tucker enjoys crawling like a pro and pulling up on things. He has a habit of making a mad dash for Ares' bowls if they are the floor at the same time he is. With his new found mobility, Tucker passionately dislikes being made to stay still, which makes for challenging diaper changes. He recently said "dada" and "mom" for the first time, but he doesn't repeat these performances very often, yet. We've also discovered that Tucker has a small allergic reaction to cinnamon (it gives him a very, very rosy face).

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Oklahoma and were able to see both sides of the family. We started out in Maud visiting the O'Daniel's and then went to Edmond visit the Miller clan. We have so much to be thankful for this year, our health, our family and especially our little bundle of joy Tucker.I couldn't believe the weather was so perfect on Thanksgiving Day!

Tucker tried to help make pies, but no one would let him near the ovens!

I guess Tucker wasn't impressed with the food on the table and decided to see how the dog food tasted instead.

Tucker loving on Mama and Papa

Somehow I managed to not get any pictures of the Miller family while we were in Edmond. We stayed at Staci & Jeff's new house that they had moved into the day before Thanksgiving. Sounds like a hectic time to move and then host Thanksgiving the next day, but the way I see it, it was perfect! They had all the free labor of their family helping to unpack!

The Best Toy Ever (At Least for Today)

I was wrapping some presents today, got to the end of a roll, and Tucker found a new play toy!
And yes, I realize my baby has orange-nose syndrome. Some may say it's from all the carrots he loves, but Mommy and Daddy thinks it must be because he's an O-State fan, through and through!

Traveling with Tucker

Tucker and I went to Little Rock for Nicole's Bachelorette Party last weekend. Tucker was a very good traveler, as always. Aunt Staci and Cousin Max flew from OKC and met up with us at the airport in Dallas. The boys had fun playing while waiting for the plane to arrive and flirted a little bit with an older 10 month old babe who was also on our flight.Tucker: I know what your shirt says, but let me tell you how it's gonna be

Tucker: What'd you say about my mom?

Max: Umm, do you know when the peanuts will be served?

Much better than traveling in a car seat!

All Smiles

OK, so I probably shouldn't complain about this because I'm sure there will be a time when Tucker will hate getting his picture taken, but here it is. Tucker will eat just about anything but peas. Peas were the first vegetable we tried with him and I've tried peas again a couple other times thinking he may learn to like them. So I was feeding him some peas and he was making these terrible, disgusted faces so I get out the camera to capture these faces and he starts grinning as soon as he sees the camera!

Puppy Love

We weren't sure how our dog, Ares was going to take to having a baby in the house. We are relieved that Ares seems to tolerate Tucker very well. Tucker, on the other hand, absolutely ADORES Ares. He can be screaming and crying and Mom and Dad try to comfort him with no success; and then that darn dog just walks by and Tucker will start laughing! Tucker tugs at Ares' fur and Ares takes it like a champ. Tucker has recently discovered the collar-he can get a pretty good hold of it and pull pretty hard, we are trying to work on that so Ares doesn't get too mad, although he hasn't had a problem with it so far. Ares knows which toys belong to him, and which toys belong to Tucker, and he pretty much stays away from Tucker's toys. Tucker however, thinks everything is HIS toy, so Ares shares with him. One of their favorites is Ares' red dog. Ares has had it since he was a puppy (and it shows with all the wear). This video show the two of them wrestling over the red dog, and a little bit of the beginnings of crawling. We were surprised to see Tucker start the rocking on all fours movement because we were almost convinced that he might walk before he crawls, but it looks like he may be crawling in no time.

Go Pokes!

Tucker went to Stillwater this past weekend to experience his first OSU Homecoming. He didn't stay for the game since gametime was 8:15pm, but he joined the tailgaters and was a hit with all the girls!

Getting Ready for Halloween

So tell me more about this Halloween business, you say I go around asking people for CANDY?

Tucker has been learning to give kisses. He's getting pretty good at giving them on request, but they sure are slobbery!

Bunches of Birthdays

We told Tucker about all the birthdays taking place this month, and he could not believe it.

Then we reminded him later during his bath, and he was still completely shocked by the number of birthdays...

Annabelle on the 18th
Jeff on the 21st
Angel on the 22nd
Heath on the 23rd
Meggie, Erica, JJ, and Tyler on the 25th
Grandad on the 27th
Ruth on the 29th
Tessa on the 30th

So Tucker says to all those with birthdays this month, "Have a crazy good birthday!"

Tucker Loves His Peas

Here is a video of Tucker's first experience with a vegetable-organic sweet peas! Yum, yum! The video shows him making yucky faces at the stuff, but he ate almost the entire serving without turning his head away or refusing the spoon of the green goo. Jason and I have decided that we think Tucker is pretty much like his dad-who will eat just about anything and not like his mom-who is a picky eater.

6 Months Old!

Tucker is 6 months old today! He celebrated with his Mommy and Meggie (for those of you keeping track, Grandma Miller, formerly known as Grameggie has now been shortened to just Meggie) in Enid, OK. We went to Old Navy, Walgreens and visited our friends Andrea, Cade and Vivi. He missed his Daddy because he has been in Tucson for work the last couple of days. Jason has been working for the last 2-1/2 years and for the first 2 years he never traveled for his job. In the 6 months since Tucker has been born, he has had 3 business trips. Coincidence? Or is he just planning these trips so he can get a couple of nights of good, uninterupted sleep in a comfy hotel room? Hmmm...makes you wonder. We will be glad to see him tomorrow!

Tucker's 6 month appointment was on Monday and he did very well with his shots-cried bloody murder for about 30 seconds and was OK after that. He weighs 17lbs 10oz (50% percentile) and is 26.5" long (25-50% percentile).

Just Sitting Around Teething

The other day Ticey was over with her twins, Hudson and Kennedy for a play date with Tucker. They are just a few weeks younger than Tucker so it is fun to see them all together and swap stories with Mom. When they were over, Tucker must have been wanting to show off for the twins because he was sitting by himself for a long time which he hadn't done before. This week also brings another first-Tucker's first tooth coming in! And second! On Sunday night I noticed the first one starting to break through and then just yesterday when I was checking the progress, I saw that a second tooth was starting to come in as well.

Doesn't look like much yet, but this is the beginning of the teeth coming in!

Lazy days sitting in the pj's

Sometimes we gotta take take a break from all the sitting and do our baby exercises. Touch your toes, roll over, repeat!

Visiting with the O'Daniels

This past weekend Mama and Papa O'Daniel came to visit and brought Tucker's cousins, Adam and Addi. Tucker had lots of fun and loved going to the pool with them. Jason and I spent some time working out in the yard while Tucker enjoyed the air conditioning inside with Mama and Papa.

Wedding and Family

Last weekend we went to my Cousin Davy's wedding in Gainesville, TX. We had lots of visitors and even had 13 people stay overnight at our house. Good thing we just replaced the hot water heater! Tucker loved all the attention and Jason and I loved having my cousins Holly and Will around since they fight about who gets to change the next diaper!

Lately, Tucker has been taking sips out of Mom and Dad's water cups. He's trying to steal a swig of Dad's beer here!

Funny Food

So Tucker has been experimenting with rice cereal for a couple of weeks now and he's taken to it pretty well. The other day I tried giving it to him in the Bumbo seat instead of the high chair, just for a change of pace. For some reason, he couldn't stop giggling during his meal time.

Wedding in Wichita

Tucker and I recently traveled to Wichita for Monica and Peter's beautiful wedding. Tucker and I got to enjoy the ceremony from the narthex of the church because Tucker was having too much fun and wanted to giggle through the ceremony and take away from the service.
