9 Months Old

Tucker waiting at the doctor's office

Our baby is 9 months old already! We can't believe how fast he's growing up. Tucker went for his 9 month check up on Monday and he is perfect-the doctor said so! He weighed in at 18lbs 10oz and was 27" tall. He didn't have to have any shots at this appointment (Yay) but just had to have his finger pricked. At this point, Tucker enjoys crawling like a pro and pulling up on things. He has a habit of making a mad dash for Ares' bowls if they are the floor at the same time he is. With his new found mobility, Tucker passionately dislikes being made to stay still, which makes for challenging diaper changes. He recently said "dada" and "mom" for the first time, but he doesn't repeat these performances very often, yet. We've also discovered that Tucker has a small allergic reaction to cinnamon (it gives him a very, very rosy face).

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Oklahoma and were able to see both sides of the family. We started out in Maud visiting the O'Daniel's and then went to Edmond visit the Miller clan. We have so much to be thankful for this year, our health, our family and especially our little bundle of joy Tucker.I couldn't believe the weather was so perfect on Thanksgiving Day!

Tucker tried to help make pies, but no one would let him near the ovens!

I guess Tucker wasn't impressed with the food on the table and decided to see how the dog food tasted instead.

Somehow I managed to not get any pictures of the Miller family while we were in Edmond. We stayed at Staci & Jeff's new house that they had moved into the day before Thanksgiving. Sounds like a hectic time to move and then host Thanksgiving the next day, but the way I see it, it was perfect! They had all the free labor of their family helping to unpack!

The Best Toy Ever (At Least for Today)

I was wrapping some presents today, got to the end of a roll, and Tucker found a new play toy!
And yes, I realize my baby has orange-nose syndrome. Some may say it's from all the carrots he loves, but Mommy and Daddy thinks it must be because he's an O-State fan, through and through!

Traveling with Tucker

Tucker and I went to Little Rock for Nicole's Bachelorette Party last weekend. Tucker was a very good traveler, as always. Aunt Staci and Cousin Max flew from OKC and met up with us at the airport in Dallas. The boys had fun playing while waiting for the plane to arrive and flirted a little bit with an older 10 month old babe who was also on our flight.Tucker: I know what your shirt says, but let me tell you how it's gonna be

Tucker: What'd you say about my mom?

Max: Umm, do you know when the peanuts will be served?

Much better than traveling in a car seat!

All Smiles

OK, so I probably shouldn't complain about this because I'm sure there will be a time when Tucker will hate getting his picture taken, but here it is. Tucker will eat just about anything but peas. Peas were the first vegetable we tried with him and I've tried peas again a couple other times thinking he may learn to like them. So I was feeding him some peas and he was making these terrible, disgusted faces so I get out the camera to capture these faces and he starts grinning as soon as he sees the camera!

Puppy Love

We weren't sure how our dog, Ares was going to take to having a baby in the house. We are relieved that Ares seems to tolerate Tucker very well. Tucker, on the other hand, absolutely ADORES Ares. He can be screaming and crying and Mom and Dad try to comfort him with no success; and then that darn dog just walks by and Tucker will start laughing! Tucker tugs at Ares' fur and Ares takes it like a champ. Tucker has recently discovered the collar-he can get a pretty good hold of it and pull pretty hard, we are trying to work on that so Ares doesn't get too mad, although he hasn't had a problem with it so far. Ares knows which toys belong to him, and which toys belong to Tucker, and he pretty much stays away from Tucker's toys. Tucker however, thinks everything is HIS toy, so Ares shares with him. One of their favorites is Ares' red dog. Ares has had it since he was a puppy (and it shows with all the wear). This video show the two of them wrestling over the red dog, and a little bit of the beginnings of crawling. We were surprised to see Tucker start the rocking on all fours movement because we were almost convinced that he might walk before he crawls, but it looks like he may be crawling in no time.

Go Pokes!

Tucker went to Stillwater this past weekend to experience his first OSU Homecoming. He didn't stay for the game since gametime was 8:15pm, but he joined the tailgaters and was a hit with all the girls!
